In reply to the discussion: Merrick Garland Plays Pontius Pilate [View all]gab13by13
(32,848 posts)23. Our foreign agents were murdered
most likely because of information released from the 10 inch binder. Kash Patel plays deadly games with the National Archives trying to get his hands on that binder. Kash Patel doesn't even have the security clearance yet he has the balls to demand that NARA give him that binder. I hope to hell that DOJ is investigating Patel.
Donald Trump stated that Mark Meadows has the binder, Cassidy Hutchinson saw it in Meadow's car. I hope to hell that DOJ is investigating Mark Meadows.
What is going to happen is that our allies are not going to trust us with sensitive intelligence, we probably had to go in and extricate our foreign agents before they get killed but Trump's favorite judge stalls the stolen document trial.

I think Garland was given the AG job as consolation for not being allowed on the Supreme Court.

That narrative is just silly, Garland accepted the SCOTUS nomination knowing he would never receive a vote

I've been watching Shawshank Redemption on cable this morning, the phrase that comes to mind is:

No. You do not have the wrong impression. Your observations are right on target.

"an AG may not, by law, appoint a special counsel if there is no conflict between DOJ and the office of the President."

He's doing his job and following the law and letting special counsels do their job

My guess is there are probably not many, if any left at all. Treason of the highest order and the DOJ can't be bothered.
