At first, I felt revulsion at her self-reinforcing privileged idiocy. As the video continued, I felt that change to pity for her apparently soul-less uncaring responses.
Her mind bobs and sloshes along like a block of Swiss cheese half-submerged in rotting moldy applesauce. Despite the gaps where you can see the hamster wheel spinning behind her pupils, her answers are clear enough and she no doubt thinks highly of her communication skills to take on a 5-minute publicizable interview, or someone paid her for her input. However, it's the "thoughts" behind what she says that exude a pathetic ignorance, as if she were lobotomized and programmed to respond only in ways that reinforce her complete cultish faith in her cult leader, which naturally requires frequent maintenance. Watching the hamster scurrying across the uneven cheese surface looking for crumbs to patch and reinforce her fragile preconceptions, swaying like an unbalanced house of marked cards built on a foundation of rotten applesauce, I found myself transitioning from bemusement and antipathy to pity and horror-tinged sorrow.
At the end of the day, this person remains my countrywoman, and she probably didn't become as we now behold her without some abuse and lots of neglect. I can't help but feel that her failures as an informed citizen stand as indicators of our failures as a society.
And I am left with two questions:
Were interviews with Manson's followers like this too?
What color is the thing on her lips?
