5. It's not "projection",

It's much more sinister than that.

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism. The project-or tends to believe in their own innocence.

"malignant" here in the sense of disease.

What Trump, QANON, and the Reich wing in general practices is what I call goebbeling, after Hitler's propagandist Joseph Goebbels, who advised Nazis to accuse the opposition of what Nazis were planning. This is much closer to "every accusation is a confession".
