I think this will be an "asterisk" award year, the chances of non-Western countries hosting WorldCon just shrank to almost nil, and new rules regarding transparency will be put in place, but the general WorldCon community will show its resilience. The purging of the alt-right from fandom opened the awards to an incredible amount of diversity that is driving sci-fi publishing now, and that is a very good thing.
