from abusive spouses who want a divorce but have the attitude "I don't want you but nobody else should have you, either." It is very much a "I should be King" attitude - women are objects to be possessed and controlled. Women are supposed to be like mink coats - they should look good, keep them warm/satisfied, be something to show off to other men, and be put back in the closet when not wanted or when a new, nicer coat comes along.
