15. I'm 75, and I ALWAYS keep at least $1000 in cash at our house,

usually $1500 to $2000 just in case. Of what, I don't know. But it makes me feel comfortable. We almost never tap into it either. I think it's foolish not to have cash on hand.

My parents always kept their money in cash as well (besides investments). Depression babies.
