Recent history of businessmen as Presidents... [View all]

I've often overheard people saying the country needed a businessman as its president. Well, maybe. Experience managing government would be nice too, because our two most recent Presidents with business experience didn't work out very well for us.

George W Bush made his money the old fashioned way, he inherited it and by parlaying his father's connections. He started an oil company in west Texas oil called Arbusto. Ironically named as it later went bust; however, before it did, its principal investors were Saudis. Why would the Saudis, with oil beneath their feet explore for oil with a man in Texas with no geological experience? Maybe because his daddy was Director of the CIA at the time?

Donald Trump, a self promoting narcissist, also inherited his fortune, claiming to be a smart, successful businessman. He was so successful that he only had to file for bankruptcy six times. And he was so smart, that after losing $5 million in a defamation lawsuit, he opened his big, fat, disconnected from his brain mouth and defamed the same person again, costing him another $83 million. And, hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen, he may yet do it again. Brilliant!

Yup, that's the guy we need running the country. What could possibly go wrong?
