(2,679 posts)I think in my 46 years I have shopped (if you want to call it that - more looking then looking then buying) twice on black friday. Once went I was about 14 and then the last time was about 10 years ago.
This black friday we needed milk, oj and our printer broke this week. So I sent the hubby to costco and he got just milk. oj and a printer.
I hate shopping. I hate grocery shopping. I hate shopping for clothes. I despise shopping for a car. I loathe shopping for furniture. I don't mind shopping for musical instruments or things that I can build.
The reason I hate it, I don't like the crowds. People don't act like people when they see the word 'sale' or the phrase 'buy one get one free.' Their eyes glaze over and they start to act crazy. Scares me so I don't take part unless forced to.
Besides on black friday there is usually football, and I love football. An added bonus this year natgo had a doomsday prepper marathon (I like this show I think it is funny and sometimes I learn something - mostly though what I learn as nothing to do with prepping, but they do have many good green ideas). I really wish a&a would stop the storage wars, every time I turn it there that damn show is on, and if it isn't storage wars its parking wars which is just as stupid. History channel is no better these days, with american pickers and pawn shop - I think they were doing counting cars of some bs. At least history channel 2 had ancient aliens (it was about mormons of all things last night) and some up coming armageddon show.
But I was saved from all that because hbo was showing all the matrix movies.
