13. The schadenfreude is strong this year

mostly because men like Rove and all the spewing heads were all so confident, all believing their own Big Lie from a couple of scammers, Dean Chambers and Neil Newhouse. Those two believed that the polls were skewed by improper sampling and managed to sell it to the party bigwigs without a single shred of real evidence.

It was pure joy to see them get taken in by a Big Lie after they'd been doing it to dimbulb Americans for so very long. Rove's meltdown was particularly satisfying.

Of course, that's also what has the dimbulbs completely unhinged right now. Demonstrate that an authoritarian's trusted authorities are wrong about something and you pull the rug right out from under him.

The fact that the smarter of them are flailing around, trying to figure out who and what to blame without any of the insight that would allow them to do so is just the cherry on top.
