Knight is saying they don't actually have control of the $175 million he supposedly put up. They say it is in an account somewhere that is "pledged" to them. They refused to specifically describe the type of account such as trust etc. So basically an "account" somewhere holds an amount and maybe only holds a promissory note. So if he loses he can still yank the money or fail to make good on the promissory note. So it is murkier and murkier and the wording of the bond terms is critical as you point out.
