Why I had to leave DU and the long journey back. My first post in nine years.

I didn't know you under either of your earlier incarnations. I didn't discover DU until 2013, and although I created this account right away, I didn't start posting actively until the 2020 election cycle got underway. I was so tied up in knots worrying about TSF possibly getting reelected that I felt like I was going to lose my mind and desperately needed a safe place to talk about my fears, and DU turned out to be the perfect place. This place has been my home ever since.

When I read this o.p., I felt like I recognized a kindred spirit of sorts, because I also love to write long posts (alhough mine are usually about my musings on various issues rather than my personal experiences). I absolutely love to write, period, and I find DU to be a terrific place to do it.
