44. Costco Salesman says I can trust him because he's "christian"

When we moved to Oregon we were looking for a TV. Went to Costco where a nice man in the TV department spent time with us. Finally he told us that we can trust him because he is "christian". We just about flipped out. We immediately went to the General Manager and told him that he had people evangelizing on the corporate sales floor and we were offended by his comment. We asked him if we could trust a man in the jewelry department because he was Jewish. Or how about a Muslim selling carpets.

He was quite irritated in hearing this and assured us that this is not Costco policy and that he will schedule an all employees meeting the next day before opening to review their corporate policy against this sort of religious promotion.

The guy didn't lost his job but I bet he never said that again to any customers.

I recommend to all that when they hear politics or religion spoken by employees of any corporation while at work, that you take it directly to the highest level in that organization and put your foot down so that can put their foot of that employees ass.
