Romans and the populations often resented the Judeans for the deal they cut with the Empire--a measure of religious autonomy.
That continued in Imperial Rome.
The Catholic Church inherited this. Even a few centuries into Xianity the Quartodeciman Controversy was a problem. Many eastern Xians kept passover. But the Roman Church couldn't abide it. "Following the Christ" meant abjuring his Jewishness.
The Quartodecimans lost. The Roman church even declared Saturday a fast day, to make sure that it was day of "I don't like this," to promote worship on the day of the Sun because of the Tomb's being empty Sunday pre-sunrise.
Xian anti-Semitism was inherited and spread by post-pagan anti-Semites writ normative.
