keep calm and quiet?
I've read many accounts of Germans who hoped the same thing in 1933. The loss of freedoms came in increments. Each time, people who disagreed with Nazis or who feared them said, "It's not so bad. Just be calm and we'll get through this." They adapted themselves to each legal change and each edict.
But some who were not willing to adapt and were able to leave went to other countries, only to face Nazi conquests in their new locations because nobody took a stand before it became impossible to do it.
Is there a red line that we will not tolerate being crossed? What would it be? And what would our taking a stand look like?
