(20,544 posts)Those who say the United States is "a Christian Nation" are the ones who abhor all that is good in other people of different faiths not based in Christianity. They find it difficult to find common ground in tenets that emphasize goodness in others, taking care of the Earth and its resources, etc.
These so-called Christians fail to realize that the first Christian church that was established before the 4th Century while the Roman Empire was still in existence, ultimately became the Catholic Church. That all other denominations of the Catholic Church derived from it once the Protestant Reformation began sweeping Europe in the early 16th Century under a Catholic Monk named Martin Luther.
Learning the history of the Christian Church is too much for these people. Too "WOKE" I reckon!
