In reply to the discussion: Protesters shout 'babykillers' at Jewish elementary school children [View all]AloeVera
(4,560 posts)Here is a link to a different version of the events at this protest, from a local newspaper.
There was no protest at an American Jewish school, as I've seen it claimed in this thread. The protest was at the entrance to a weapons manufacturing plant the protesters believed supply parts for use by the IDF. It involved 16 local protestors.
The only sign in evidence was a large one implying the company is involved in genocide.
At some point, the protesters agreed to move to another company entrance near an intersection. Four remained, chaining themselves at the entrance. They were later removed and arrested.
The protesters were removed by 3:15. School buses were seen driving towards the school for pick-up.
There is no mention of verbal altercations between protesters and bystanders involving accusations against parents or kids of complicity in genocide or being baby-killers. Only the "40,000 people killed" comment is reported, the one heard in the video.
No mention of school children in attendance at or near the protest, in vehicles or otherwise.
I have to ask why, if such awful accusations were levelled at 7-year old schoolchildren, the police who were in attendance all day did not intervene? The only intervention reported is this:
One man across the street yelled at the[m] and yelled obscenities, then was asked to stop by a sheriffs deputy trying to keep the peace, who said theyve already made their bed.
Woodstock supervisor had this to say about the police. I doubt they would have been polite had there been any abuse towards children or any signs of anti-semitism:
I also wonder why people are not more scrupulous about a story originating from the New York Post that is based on unsubstantiated claims and an Instagram post.
