They have to have been shocked at Costello's behavior. Every single legal pundit, every reporter who covers court cases, they all said they'd never seen anything like it. Even on the most outlandish legal dramas you never see people, much less witnesses, dissing the judge the way Costello did. And Trump sleeping/closing his eyes was also disrespectful to the process as if he was above it all & shouldn't be bothered with it.
