16. To be fair to the ex-Governor...

..we must, in the spirit of equality, try to imagine how our worlds diverge.

For us, it's a bad thing when we spoil a nice pair of shoes, because we know that we don't really have the money to replace them immediately. We have to consider the bills, the food and so forth.

For Former Governor Romney it's a terrible thing when he scuffs his shoe because he knows that he might have to wait ten minutes for a repair or replacement to be slipped on to his foot by his personal assistant. That's a real hardship for a man of his stature, for he has to consider his appearance, he has to consider his status, his innate ability to connect with the common man. How can he do that with a slab of scuffed leather on his (right? left? I don't know, it depends on the year) foot?
