Or the like but regularly listen to NPR nightly. Perhaps I’ve been naive in my assessment of the current paradigm. I admit I’m a bit out of the loop, for reasons.

But my argument still stands: let students be students and let them find their voices. If they make a mess, maybe a mess is their voice in the face of oppression? And maybe the mess will be something they will eventually have to clean up themselves when they become leaders. Or both. It’s their legacy to create.

I dunno.

As a teacher, maybe some of these students are pushing their limits to find where their limits are? But that’s also part of being a student and I agree if you push too far it can, indeed, be consequential.

And that’s at the discretion of the prosecutor. But that prosecution shouldn’t be dealt out without wisdom. (Not claiming myself to be wise by any measure).
