against the jury, the prosecutors, and the witnesses as they have been excused from service following the conviction.

That being said, I'd say it would be inadvisable for TSF to open his yap until sentencing. His words will be held against him as evidence of a black hole of contrition. You usually don't get light sentences when you state, "Yeah, I did it and I'd do it again!"
