'Going all in to win!' Dems deliver epic burn after RNC makes Ho Chi Minh City mistake [View all]
The Republican Party committed a bizarre mistake this week in advertising their upcoming national convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where one of their websites swapped out the skyline of Milwaukee for that of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese metropolis previously known as Saigon.
Democratic National Committee rapid response director Alex Floyd was quick to pound them with mockery over it in a statement. Maybe if Donald Trump and the RNC actually bothered to have a real campaign operation in Wisconsin, they could tell the difference between Milwaukee and Ho Chi Minh City," said the statement. "We encourage them to continue going all-in to win the voters of Ho Chi Minh City while Democrats earn the votes of Wisconsinites.
The skylines of these cities do not look remotely the same; Ho Chi Minh City is home to over 9 million people, while Milwaukee has fewer than 600,000 people and less than half the number of high-rise buildings in its city center.
This comes after the RNC has faced a number of setbacks, following the ouster of longtime chair Ronna McDaniel and her replacement by several hardcore Trump loyalists and election deniers, including former North Carolina GOP head Michael Whatley and Trump's daughter-in-law.
