Immunity for a president isn't in the Constitution. NONE of this is ORIGINALISM and none of it is based on historic American tradition.

Although the President is mentioned in the Constitution in connections with crimes and misdemeanors. So there is no doubt at all that the AUTHORS of the constitution felt that a president could break the law.
