He should have been allowed to defend himself in an ethics hearing (I dont think it would have gone to court). If he had, the rightwing ratf*cking wouldve been exposed for what it was, with the added benefit of making it harder to do next time.
Also, believing that Al Franken was unfairly railroaded does not imply that Tina Smith isnt a good senator, its possible to believe both of those things.
