(12,120 posts)I counted 5-7 reports. The majority occurred after Trump had ducked. Gunshots? I dont know. All from the assailant, if there was one, or some from security personnel returning fire?
If Trump was struck, it was a grazing wound with no real penetration. A fragment after a ricochet?
Trumps head was turned to the right. Supposedly the shots came from behind and the right. It would be difficult to graze his right ear from that vantage point.
Trump reacted as if something stung him. His head really only moved down toward his shoulders it did not appear there was any energy transfer.
He ducked; he was not knocked down, nor did he appear to lose consciousness. He was on his feet within seconds ( but seemed to say to the Secret Service, Let me get my shoes, ) although he looked very unsteady, and appeared to have to be carried down the stairs.
For all of that, Trump appeared mostly interested in pumping his fist and exhorting the crowd to fight.
The oddest thing for me, was that there was no attempt to address the crowd behind him within feet of him. Secret Service covered him, but never appeared to look into the crowd. Two or three armed men in helmets, vests and with long guns mounted the stage but didnt look into the crowd behind.
Nobody in the audience seemed to duck. A few people kind of bent down, but nobody hit the ground.
The crowd, all of whom were witnesses, evacuated almost immediately. Did law enforcement segregate them? Are they being interviewed? if not, why not?
