I suppose human nature is human nature. There will always be human beings who exploit and terrorize and rape other human beings. ( that's why we have the Republican party, but, again, I digress ) It gives them a sense of power, or they are acting out their own victimization.
The fact is that most of these rapes are committed by a very very small percentage of men, so that's a good thing.
The world is full of evil, but we can and shall fight that evil.
That's what these threads are about. The statistics are painful to read, but when we shine the light on the reality of our culture that enables these rapes to occur, we are on the road to making rape as rare as the dinosaurs.
I do ask myself your question often, though: why?
