Top Democrats Rally Around VP Harris to Lead Presidential Ticket [View all]
Following President Joe Biden's historic decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election, prominent Democrats quickly threw their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the Democratic presidential ticket.
Immediately after releasing his letter to the nation, President Biden endorsed Harris, writing, "My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this."
Quickly after the President's endorsement of Harris, many other prominent Democrats followed suit. In a statement, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrote, "Now is the time to support Kamala Harris and fight with everything we've got to elect her. America's future depends on it."
