(7,794 posts)The reality of the "Global Economy" transforms all democracies into commodities on the markets, stock and meat, during their election cycles. So, dis-spirited and corrupted is our own experiment that we have failed miserably to address this problem with legislation. We don't seriously discuss or even acknowledge the evidence of its existence in social conversation or on our common media platforms. Statutes to correct the course, which direction is so plainly obvious, would pretty much write themselves if it weren't for the open collusion and coercion which infests both branches of congress. At this point it is a question that, if such regulations existed could they be enforced?
Musk is the current would-be-world -master foolish enough to show his hand. A position for which many multi-billionaires are sincerely grateful as it maintains their relative invisibility, the real key to survival in the "information age". His controversial outrageousness is a given, for how could anyone presuming the mantle of power broker at that level be a person whose motivations are any with which real people identify? His high visibility and obvious eccentricities may be the best aspect of him for our purposes here on DU. A howling dog, even a rabid one, is, after all, less threat than a plague carrying rat hiding in the corn stores.
