A city judge in Birmingham granted an injunction against all antisegregation protests in the City of Birmingham in 1963. Martin Luther King Jr and Ralph Abernathy led a march in defiance of the injunction. They were both convicted of contempt of court. They shouldn't be among those considered disqualified from the highest office.
And, as the 'war on drugs' advanced, Black people were (are) disproportionately targeted for drug enforcement. Meanwhile, dope smoker Clinton served in the White House and college kids passed doobies around on the quad while campus police looked the other way. So the justice system isn't fair and I wouldn't want everyone who has been convicted to be excluded from the presidency. However, I take your point. Could we could draw the line at conviction on 34 or more felonies? Only a rich white criminal like Trump could still be out of jail and running for any office, so that seems fair.
