(11,336 posts)1) The right to follow a woman's menstrual cycle every month, with government oversight (but NO PRENATAL CARE)
2) The right to yell slurs at minorities - take your pick: a) LGBTQ, b) racial, c) ageist, d) ethnicity, e) sexual preferences, or f) anyone not exactly like me (whatever THAT may be)
3) The right to force people into my religion (Constitution be damned!)
4) The right to deny people healthcare - get sick, die fast dammit - doncha know???
5) The right to allow billionaires to pay less taxes than a janitor or repairman or police/fire/EMTs?
6) The right to chant "lock up" (where 'her' is pretty much any woman with ambition, talent and the will to fight)
7) The right to refuse to serve people you yelled slurs at in #2?
8) The right to rig elections instead of win them?
9) The right to deport people at will or barring that just round them up and put them in camps? *VERY popular with the skinhead crowd*
Civil War means all out warfare.
Urban guerillas taking out water supplies and electrical grids.
Transportation between states (and thus trade) shut down due to infrastructure dammage, bandits and thieves, and targeting of supply lines.
Starvation, disease, malnutrition and deprivation, and refugees on a scale NEVER seen in North America (well at least not unless you were indigenous and being marched on the Trail of Tears).
They think that "we have the guns and the 'tough guys' that will win the war"...same thing the Germans thought in WWI and everyone else that believed "over the top boys" was a "strategy". Like Mike Tyson said - "Everyone has a plan until you hit them in the mouth."
The idea that a shooting civil war is nigh is simple minded and about what I would expect from people who saw "Rambo" in 1985 and thought he single-handedly defeated the Vietnamese and Russians and won the Cold War...or any of the other similar films with Norris or Stallone or Schwarzenegger prior to the "expendables" films in recent years.
If those are the animating beliefs that these people want to fight to the death for, well all I can say is 'good luck with that' - especially after the food runs out and the supply lines to the hinterlands dry up and nothing is available in those nice big (empty of infrastructure and people) red states.
The single biggest difference in 2024 America is the camp of people who want to take away rights and protections from all and the camp of people who WANT "project 2025" and to take AWAY those same rights. I have chosen my side. I AM willing to die for a country that protects those things and the rights of ALL citizens to live in peace and free from systemic persecution or worse.
