St. Louis friends: What do you know about Cori Bush's challenger, Wesley Bell [View all]
Unless Im gauging the news and polls incorrectly (certainly possible!)
it appears Congresswoman Cori Bush is projected to be unseated in Missouri's First Congressional District in tomorrows Democratic primary election.
An NPR article cites Bushs criticism of Israels military actions in Gaza as the impetus that prompted her main challenger, prosecutor Wesley Bell, to enter the race. Looking ahead it seems that where candidates come down on the war in Gaza may be a bellwether as to how many elections will be decided in the near future
but thats another thread.
Back to my question: A cursory search of Bushs challenger, Wesley Bell, yielded the following quote (ABC News article below) about Wesley Bell. I wasnt thrilled with what I read. Not being too trusting in the news these days, I was hoping some of you local STL folks may be able to shed some light on Bells track record?
Sarah Arkebaur, co-chair of the St. Louis Democratic Socialists of America electoral working group, said that with "who is donating to his campaign, as well as his past work for Republican candidates," Bell "does not live up to [the] moniker" of a progressive.
