A transaction tax and eliminating the ability of corporations and individuals to hid their money offshore be a massive step toward balancing the budget and making the tax code more fair.

If I buy a pair of sunglasses, I pay sales tax. If I buy shares of Ray-Ban, I don't pay a tax. Fair? Equitable?
