He will have some heavy baggage to overcome. Women are already organized and ready to vote against trump due to Roe. Here's what Carlson has said about women:

Carlson found himself under intense scrutiny recently, as he insulted female soldiers, saying that having pregnant women fighting in our wars is “a mockery of the U.S. military.”

“So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars," he said on his Fox News program earlier in the month, referring to newly developed standards in the Army and efforts to create a flight suit for pregnant military personnel. “It's a mockery of the U.S. military. While China’s military becomes more masculine as it’s assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become, as Joe Biden says, more feminine.”

I'm not saying this will be unacceptable to republicans, but the female vote may be seen as just too powerful for him to gain any traction.

I don't see the female vote receding, even if Harris is elected. It's here to stay.

Another problem with Carlson is his demeanor: his perpetual scowl. He is not associated with lightheartedness or being upbeat as are Harris and Walz.

We are entering a new era and I think any future prospects from their position will have to take that into consideration. Carlson has the look of perpetual confusion on his face, which is not a good look when you're coming off of a confused figure like trump.

We're not going back: not to smallness, not to meanness, not to ugly behavior, and Carlson has all that in his background. As a public figure, it is easy to document.

Furthermore, he has the Putin problem (interview). Things do not look good for them on that front, either.

They can nominate him; they just won't be able to win with him.
