273. This makes me so sad I am crying

I remember when we used to write parodies of songs way back when, and how you and others tried to keep the traditions alive here. The weekly TOONS, the LOLCats, the photoshop contests, the calendars, the art history Fridays. These are the things that make DU not suck.

How dare anyone criticize one of the many people who have voluntarily posted such threads, because this attack on SalmonEnchanted is an attack on all DUers who contribute their time, expertise, and passions with the rest of us.

It is more work than many of you know. Way back when Jeff posted our TOONS for us for years. Keph our news. Everyday for years. Until they both died. No one else successfully replaced them. I know. I tried to post TOONS in Jeff's memory and keep up the traditon. I didn't last long. Others have also done the work. Mostly until they totally burned out, sometimes because of the lack of even a slight bit of encouragement by other DUers who post nothing but snarkbait as one person responding to this thread always does. The tattletales and word police who look for any opportunity to pwn someone which means to "humiliate or defeat" in internet lingo. It's a game. The trash talking dozens as if such displays of nastiness somehow gain you brownie points somewhere.

What the hell. I am disgusted. Salmon, I remember when you first signed on here. You have always been a kind person and a gentle soul. You have come to my defense many times in a thread as well as encouraging me about my art. I will miss you fiercely as I miss so many of the other DUers like you who have gone into lurk mode or have left altogether.

By the way, I always thought you were a woman.
