as his prison sentencing date nears?
Merchan will surprise everyone by sentencing trump to prison. At that point, the GOP will finally pounce: inspired by what Democrats were able to pull off, they are going to pull both trump and vance off the ticket.
From there, multiple State deadlines will have passed and the GOP will pretty much bow out of the election. They're ready to start fresh without trump.
It will be awkward and unprecedented, and there will be a lot of legal challenges, but ultimately Kamala will win.
