311. I saw that comic on Facebook earlier today

And my feeling was that the humor was that Superman was behaving in a way so contrary to how we expect Superman to behave. It does have a sexist stereotype, that women always want to talk about their baggage, but it looks like it was from an era where that was more accepted, and it doesn't look to me like that's where the humor is intended in posting it now.

I think it's important for people upthread complaining about HOF to remember that it is a group of individuals. There has been some really sexist stuff posted lately, and my guess is that femrap (is that the usermame?) is extra sensitive due to that. Just like I wouldn't assume bad intent from the OP, I would not assume bad intent from her. Though I don't remember seeing her post much in HOF - where I remember her from is in the rape-related threads, and I think she got some stuff hidden there as well. Her writing style is apparently inflammatory, but that doesn't mean she's a troll.

Anyway, to the OP, I don't spend much time in the lounge so I was not familiar with your weekly thread, but if it makes any difference, you have a new fan now. I don't personally find the Superman comic really funny, but I do love the cat stuff and if you come back I'll make a habit of checking for your thread on Sundays. The kitties are adorable.
