Honestly, if you scored well on the AP Environmental test or just have taken a side interest in climate change, the course could be a waste of money and time on material you already have a good understanding of and that could/should be spent on other fields of study.
I can see it be a potential elective to complete credits required not in one's primary field of study.

I'd certainly like to see core curriculum courses include a few days/weeks of such topics.

Maybe call it part of the core curriculum instead of singling it out as a target for the right.
