unless you count the 'pitched fight' of trying to keep up with rebel soldiers who were
running like hell away....

Even his taking over of Atlanta was mostly a matter of out-flanking the occupying rebels,
who then ran like hell to get away...

Yes, Gen. Hood made three good fights first, and lost all three. End of story.
