I'd hoped the theme would ignite the imaginations of our photographers. There were fewer entries than usual, which is understandable given the unusual theme. But valuing quality over quantity, I think this contest was a great success. The proof is in the pudding.

Thanks, Grumpy Old Guy, for telling the moving story behind the bronzed shoes. And thanks for the well-deserved tip of the hat to HAB911's historic photo.

I'd like to give a special mention to Old Crank's entry, Croc in the Thames River. Old Crank has posted splendid photos of architecture and festivals in Europe. While his entry doesn't match the technical qualities of his finer photos, for comedic value alone, it's a winner. Thanks for the hearty laugh, cranky one!
