Bash was giving Harris an opportunity to tee off on Trump. Harris declined it, which is fine. Maybe she could have pivoted and said, "Well of course that's ridiculous. But Trump says a lot of ridiculous things. Have you seen what he's posted just in the last day? QAnon stuff, disgusting sexist memes, other things like that. This is not a well person. There's no way someone this unbalanced can be anywhere near the White House."
