12. I appreciate all veterans

but especially those like your dad who quash the notion that veterans are conservative. My Dad served as a lab tech in the AF, but not during wartime. Was always hard working and level-headed. Back in the 70s when parents were scaring their kids about the communists taking over the world, my father explained that communists were just a party of people like Democrats and republicans and there was nothing to worry about. He retired at high levels of government having worked on a White House. Unfortunately it was under Reagan for a VP Bush task force. We were all proud of his work nevertheless. One of the things I regret was not getting him to talk more about all the crazy crap he saw. I have some stuff recorded though.
