...with the "Frankfurt School", "cultural Marxism", "critical theory", Saul Alinsky, etc.

A lot of this garbage started out on the fringes with the alt-right, and was then gradually "mainstreamed". Journalist David Neiwert has written about this process--how really whacked-out ideas start out on the lunatic fringe, but over many months (or more typically, years), the rough edges get filed down as these ideas are passed along to more "respectable" cultural outposts. Pretty soon, we're hearing them on Fox "News" or even C-SPAN.

JD Vance himself seems to be one of these "transmitters", as Neiwert calls them. Any number of times now during this campaign, Vance has been caught essentially plagiarizing alt-right rhetoric, delivering it directly to Trump fans in his speeches. This also serves to short-circuit the "mainstreaming" process that normally goes on in the culture (where the most overt bigotry and racism gets removed from, say, the rantings of Roosh V et al.). What Vance is doing is the cultural equivalent of injecting uncut hard drugs into the veins of the body politic.
