It was 1972, the year the age limit for voting was dropped from 21 to 18. Had they not dropped the age limit, I would have been 21 about 3 weeks after the election, and unable to vote in that election. I voted for McGovern and all the Democrats down the ballot. And I've been a Democrat all the years since.
