Had already typed out the below and figured to go ahead and post it. I am pretty sure we are agreeing with each other that these fence sitters are just looking for any excuse to not vote for Harris/Walz.
I know (anecdotally) because I am married to one of those that up until this week had just decided to not vote for President. When I finally asked why, I was told he just didn't like her. I said that isn't a good enough reason. Then he said it was her policies. I said ok, name 3. He couldn't, but said something about open borders. I said she/Biden had agreed to sign the bipartisan immigration bill Trump had killed that would have automatically closed the border under the circumstances he was angry about. He then said ok, she supported Biden who was in decline. I said Biden is more there (in less decline) than Trump, it was Biden's decision to run again, and her job as Vice President is to support his policies.
Then I countered that my husband always said he voted his pocketbook. Our investments have skyrocketed under Democrats and tariff threatening unstable Trump is not good for businesses nor the stock market. I will need to find private somewhat affordable health insurance next year that will be non-existent if Trump has his way overturning the ACA and replacing it with junk policies, pre-existing condition limitations, and lifetime caps. Trump is threatening Social Security. Trump will stop aid to Ukraine... honestly only reason I can see not voting for Harris is if you believe the crap Trump says and/or are a racist/misogynist.
Not voting will not cancel out someone that votes for Trump (that he agreed was worse for the country). Voting for Harris will effectively cancel out a pro Trump vote in this state and give him peace of mind that he did what he could at the ballot box to prevent a Trump win.
He ended up voting for Harris.
