you want someone cautious and aware if they're a judge; for an Attorney General, not so much. For that role, you need someone damned committed to the law and bringing lawbreakers to justice. IOW, a go-getter; a person who is operating from an ideal as much as from a career. I swear, ANYONE could have made a better AG than Garland, but I also think Garland would have made an excellent judge (perhaps that's why Turtle was so intent on keeping him off SCOTUS).

People can be greatly skilled in one area of a field, and horrible at another part of it; e.g., I made a great Network Administrator and also a really good tech support leader. What I could never do to a high level of skill is Network Security. My ideals don't align with it, in that everywhere I've been they come down more on people than on the equipment/SW. But those same ideals make me great at working with people of all ages and hierarchy, as well as make me pin point conscious of close work, like Admin.
