My sister has either dementia or Altzheimers but we don’t know which or what can be done. WHY? MY BIL has been in denial I suppose and hadn’t taken her to the doctor. He’s around 80 and half blind and half deaf. My sister just turned 70 the first of this month.
PLEASE if you can, make sure you have someone trustworthy in case you can no longer make decisions on your own. We are going through a rough spot with Sis because her hubby didn’t know he had to get a POA AND a MEDICAL POA. She can see doctors all day long but the only way he will know anything is if he sits in on the visit. For example, she had a brain scan a couple of weeks ago and the results are unknown to us. Husband didn’t think to listen in on the other line and I told him to call them back, put her on the phone and both of them be there listening. Frustrating as hell and I think I’m going to do the paperwork so hubby and I don’t have the same problem.
