He believes there's no such thing as "bad" publicity. That's why he says all these crazy, unfiltered things because he wants to be noticed and talked about.

On the other hand, instances of him unable to balance himself, step up on a platform, or walk down a ramp ... these are clear signs that something is wrong. The news reporters look the other way on purpose, and Faux Noise is the worst. Faux will generally just edit it all out before it goes on the air.
