When the economy crashed this last time (2008), an Africa American Woman who I work closely with, and consider a good friend...
Looked at me and asked, "Bill... are your people gonna be alright ???"
And I laughed hysterically, and gave her a one finger salute... and we both started giggling.
Point being...
She and her extended family have been dealing with this shit for YEARS.
They know where the thrift stores are, they know how to work the Underground Economy, they know which churches they can appeal to, etc....
And yet they survive.
She gave me a wink as she walked away, and said... "Well... we all N*****s Now !!!"
And again we both laughed.
I had know idea at the time, how correct she was.
