10. Despair in the 4th Reich

I've never felt overwhelmingly bad about losing an election because I was always confident that the ship of democracy would right itself. But I can say with certainty that I haven't felt this terrible about anything, since my mom died of Covid back in 2021. She was a Trump supporter and an anti vaxxer.

For the past 48 hours, I've done nothing but doom scroll. I have no motivation to do anything.

I just got a phone call and found out that I'm finally hired on at a VA Hospital, after applying months ago. I start working there in a couple of weeks. I'm a little scared Trump is going to take a blow torch to every single agency in the government and I'll wind up without a job. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought my financial destiny would ever be in the hands of Elon Musk.
