2. Influencers!

A few years ago a friend proudly bragged that his daughter was hired by a PR firm to manage "influencers."
It took all of my self control not to go off on him about this phenomenon. Influencers are basically celebrities who have little or no knowledge about issues not related to their talents, but are revered as experts in all things because they are popular....kinda like a high school prom king or queen.

Being basically a nerd myself, I was acutely aware of how dangerous this trend would be years ago.
But because of my nerdiness no one listened to me.
