It would be really great if Dems affirmatively supported the rights for all of the LGBTQ community. But at a bare minimum, I expect them to defend us against attack by the Republicans.

The aggressive messaging was from Republicans, not dems - who (for the most part) can barely force themselves to assert that trans individuals are people. But even if they can't bring themselves to affirmatively support our community, I do expect dems to respond to that messaging in a way that does not throw trans individuals under the bus.
